Frequently Asked Questions

1. What procedures does Dr. Kumar perform?
Dr. Kumar’s practice focuses exclusively on facial procedures. These include facial rejuvenation such as facelift, necklift, brow repositioning, upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facial and neck liposuction, autologous fat transfer to restore facial volume, and facial peels. He also performs cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, scar revision, and complex wound closure following Mohs surgery. Every procedure is thoughtfully tailored to you and your goals.

2. How do I make an appointment with Dr. Kumar?
You may fill out the form in the “Contact” section of this website, or simply send a text or email using the information listed at the bottom of the page. We will respond promptly to get you scheduled for a consultation.

3. What does the process look like?
We will begin with a comprehensive consultation, where time will be taken to understand your goals and aesthetic preferences. Together, we will decide on a customized plan that feels right for you. You will review examples of Dr. Kumar’s surgical results, and discuss details of the procedure and recovery. Clinical photos will be taken at this visit.

If you decide to move forward, a surgical date will be selected. Just prior to surgery, you will return to the office to review your plan, answer any final questions, and take additional photos if needed. Surgery takes place right in our office. Afterward, a nurse will accompany you home or to your hotel. You will be seen for followup the day after surgery, typically after one week, then again based on your recovery and travel plans. Our office is available at any time after surgery, and you will have a direct line of communication with Dr. Kumar.

4. Are drains used after facelift/necklift?
No. With the meticulous technique used and the close monitoring we provide, drains are not necessary.

5. Are stents or casts used after rhinoplasty?
We use a cast on the outside of the nose, but no internal stents. With a gentle, structured technique, they simply aren’t needed in most cases.

6. How much time do I need to take off from work?
This depends on the specific procedure and your personal healing process. We’ll walk through expected timelines together after we create your individualized care plan, including any restrictions on daily activities.

7. Does your office recommend nursing care after surgery?
Yes—and we can’t recommend it enough. Having a trained, calm presence by your side can make the first 24–72 hours significantly easier. The duration and level of support can be tailored to your needs. We’ll help coordinate this as part of your plan.

8. What are your prices?
We believe that facial refinement and rejuvenation should be sophisticated and elevated, but also accessible. Our fees reflect this and are thoughtfully set with respect to the level of expertise, care, and customization involved, while remaining incredibly reasonable for New York City. And as always, anesthesia and facility fees are included in your quote, so there are no surprises. We are happy to talk openly about pricing during your consultation. While we prefer payment in full to keep costs as low as possible, flexible payment plans are available when needed.

9. There are so many surgeons in and out of NYC—why choose Dr. Kumar?
You’re absolutely right to explore your options and it is encouraged. Finding a surgeon who aligns with your values and aesthetic is essential. This relationship should feel personal, honest, and reassuring. We encourage you to choose someone you truly connect with—that connection is key to your comfort, confidence, and progression throughout the journey. It is totally individual and we want what is best for you.
